Hyderabad, Telangana: The Commissionerate of Collegiate Education, Government of Telangana, in partnership with Launch Girls, has launched a three-year Career Readiness Programme for female students across 43 government degree and autonomous colleges in the state. The initiative aims to support students from their first year of college through graduation and help them transition towards employment, entrepreneurship, or higher education.

The programme addresses the gap between education and economic participation among women. According to the Periodic Labour Force Survey Annual Report 2025 by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, only 40% of women aged 15 years and above were part of the labour force in 2025, compared to 79.1% of men.

Starting with first-year students in the academic year 2026–27, the programme will run alongside regular studies and focus on building essential skills such as confidence, communication, financial literacy, digital literacy, and strategic thinking.

The programme was launched in the presence of Prof. P. Balabhaskar, Rajendra Singh, Joint Directors, Commissionerate of Collegiate Education, and Prof. V. Rajendra Prasad, Academic Guidance Officer.

The initiative marks an important step towards strengthening career readiness and improving economic opportunities for young women across Telangana.
