Rooted in the Himalayas, the new unpeated and peated whiskies expand Gamber Valley beyond its debut small-batch releases.

Gurugram: Alcobrew Distilleries India Limited has expanded its Gamber Valley Indian Single Malt Whisky portfolio with two permanent expressions, Gamber Valley Pravah: and Gamber Valley Tapah:. Launched during the festive season, the whiskies mark the next phase of the brand’s growth and bring its Himalayan-origin character to a wider audience.

Distilled, matured and bottled at the company’s Solan, Himachal Pradesh, distillery, both expressions are made with Indian malted barley and Himalayan water, matured in ex-bourbon barrels and bottled at 46% ABV. Available in 750 ml bottles from November 2026, the first launch phase covers Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh.

Pravah: is an unpeated malt, featuring layered malt, vanilla, ripe banana and grassy notes, with oak, heather honey and a hint of smoke. Tapah: is a peated expression with gentle peat, acacia honey and liquorice on the nose, followed by soft smoke, molasses, warm spice and buttery vanilla. Its finish brings together lingering smoke, vanilla and milk chocolate.

Prices range from ₹3,600–₹5,500 for Pravah: and ₹4,300–₹7,500 for Tapah:, varying by state taxes and duties.

“Pravah: and Tapah: establish the core expressions of Gamber Valley, carrying forward our vision of Indian single malts shaped by Himalayan provenance and craftsmanship,” said Romesh Pandita, Chairman and Managing Director, Alcobrew Distilleries India Limited.

Ashutosh Rajput, COO, said the expressions are designed to bring quality Indian single malt to more consumers while preserving authenticity and craftsmanship. He described Tapah: as an early entrant in the emerging Himalayan-origin peated Indian single malt segment.

Gamber Valley debuted in June 2026 with Private Edition 1 and The Vault Series. The brand follows Indian Malt Whisky Association standards, using 100% malted barley, copper pot still distillation and at least three years of maturation in Indian oak casks. It scored 92 points at IWSC 2026.

The distillery’s lower Himalayan climate, including a day-to-night temperature variation of around 15°C, contributes to the whiskies’ character. The new packaging reflects their distinct identities: Himalayan blue and gold for Pravah:, and matte black and gold for Tapah:.
