Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy: भारत और इंग्लैंड के बीच खेली जाने वाली टेस्ट क्रिकेट सीरीज़ को अब नए नाम “तेंदुलकर-एंडरसन ट्रॉफी” के नाम से जाना जाएगा। इस नई पहचान से पहले, जब यह टेस्ट सीरीज़ भारत में होती थी, तब इसे “एंथनी डी मेलो ट्रॉफी” कहा जाता था, और जब इंग्लैंड में खेली जाती थी, तो इसे “पटौदी ट्रॉफी” के नाम से जाना जाता था।
अब यह परंपरा बदली जा रही है और दोनों देशों के बीच खेली जाने वाली सभी टेस्ट सीरीज़ को “तेंदुलकर-एंडरसन ट्रॉफी” के नाम से आयोजित किया जाएगा। यह बदलाव आईसीसी वर्ल्ड टेस्ट चैंपियनशिप (WTC) के 2025-27 चक्र की शुरुआत से लागू होगा। इस चक्र की पहली टेस्ट सीरीज़ भारत और इंग्लैंड के बीच 20 जून 2025 से शुरू होकर अगस्त की शुरुआत तक पांच मैचों की होगी, जो इस नए नाम के तहत खेली जाएगी।
यह ट्रॉफी भारतीय क्रिकेट के महान बल्लेबाज सचिन तेंदुलकर और इंग्लैंड के दिग्गज तेज गेंदबाज जेम्स एंडरसन को समर्पित है, जिन्होंने टेस्ट क्रिकेट में ऐतिहासिक योगदान दिया है। तेंदुलकर जहां टेस्ट क्रिकेट में सबसे अधिक रन बनाने वाले खिलाड़ी हैं, वहीं एंडरसन सबसे अधिक टेस्ट विकेट लेने वाले तेज गेंदबाजों में शुमार हैं। इस नामकरण को दोनों देशों की क्रिकेट विरासत का सम्मान माना जा रहा है और उम्मीद है कि यह आने वाले वर्षों में इस सीरीज़ को और अधिक ऐतिहासिक महत्व देगा।
