Uttar Pradesh has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first state in India to fully adopt the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) platform. This bold step is set to revolutionize governance by promoting transparency, enhancing efficiency, and streamlining public procurement processes.
The adoption of GeM is expected to save the state approximately ₹2,000 crore annually by eliminating inefficiencies and ensuring cost-effective procurement. Additionally, it provides a major boost to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by offering them a transparent and accessible platform to participate in government tenders.
This initiative aligns with Uttar Pradesh’s commitment to governance transformation, leveraging technology to foster accountability and empower local businesses. By leading the way in GeM implementation, the state sets a benchmark for others to follow, paving the path for a digitally-driven, transparent future in public administration.
