Hyderabad: Indian Railways has selected ROQIT, a company of AION-Tech Solutions Limited, to build and launch an AI-powered parcel logistics platform that will transform small and medium-weight parcel delivery in India. AION-Tech Solutions is also building sustainable transport systems through its subsidiary ETO Motors.

The pilot project will start with South Central Railway in early 2026. After the pilot, the solution will be rolled out across India to create a digital, sustainable, and customer-friendly parcel delivery network.

Indian Railways is the world’s fourth-largest railway network, covering around 68,500–68,600 km. Although it earns 70% of revenue from freight, small parcels of up to 150 kg form less than 1% of total traffic, which is much lower than countries like Germany (6%), the European Union (4–6%), Japan and the United States (2–3%). Current challenges include manual booking, delays, limited tracking, and poor last-mile delivery.

ROQIT will solve these problems through an AI-based digital platform offering:

  • Door-to-door service via partner fleet operators
  • Predictive scheduling and instant booking
  • Digital payments and real-time tracking
  • An open marketplace to choose delivery partners by price, speed, and sustainability

Speaking about the partnership, Pavan Chavali, CEO, ROQIT, said:
“Our collaboration with Indian Railways marks a transformative milestone in building India’s next-generation end-to-end logistics ecosystem. By combining rail with electric first- and last-mile mobility through ETO Motors, we enable a seamless, zero-emission movement of goods aligned with India’s Net-Zero vision.”

The system will use electric vehicles for pickup and delivery, creating a green logistics network and reducing dependence on fuel-based road and air transport.

This partnership aims to open a new era of smart, sustainable logistics in India—making parcel delivery faster, cleaner, and more efficient.
