New Delhi: New Delhi’s iconic Ramlila Maidan is gearing up for a grand spectacle as preparations kick off for the oath-taking ceremony of the BJP-led government in Delhi on February 20. The high-profile event will witness the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, and several other dignitaries.

In a show of strength and unity, all 20 Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers from NDA-ruled states will attend the ceremony, making it a significant political event. The BJP is leaving no stone unturned to ensure a grand and seamless swearing-in, with elaborate security and logistical arrangements in place. On Monday, workers were seen cleaning the ground, roads, and pavements at Ramlila Maidan, which can accommodate around 30,000 people. The boundary walls also received a fresh coat of paint.

“Diplomats from major countries have also been invited. Farmers’ leaders from Delhi and beneficiaries of central government schemes will also attend the event,” the source said. In addition, spiritual leaders like Baba Ramdev, Swami Chidananda, and Baba Bageshwar Dhirendra Shastri will represent the country’s religious leaders at the momentous event.
The event may also include musical performances by some noted celebrities, which could include singer Kailash Kher. The BJP won 48 of the 70 seats in the Assembly elections, ending its 27-year-long deadlock in Delhi.
