पटना: बिहार के मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार ने इस महीने की शुरुआत में राज्यसभा के लिए निर्वाचित होने के बाद आज अपने विधान परिषद (एमएलसी) पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया। 16 मार्च को संसद के उच्च सदन के लिए चुने जाने के बाद उन्होंने संवैधानिक प्रावधानों का पालन करते हुए यह निर्णय लिया।
जेडीयू के अध्यक्ष के रूप में भी जिम्मेदारी निभा रहे नीतीश कुमार का यह कदम उनकी नई संसदीय भूमिका में औपचारिक बदलाव को दर्शाता है। नियमों के अनुसार, एक व्यक्ति एक साथ दो विधायी पदों पर नहीं रह सकता, इसलिए राज्यसभा सदस्य बनने के बाद एमएलसी पद छोड़ना आवश्यक था।
इस इस्तीफे के साथ ही नीतीश कुमार अब पूरी तरह से अपनी नई भूमिका में सक्रिय होंगे, जो राज्य और केंद्र की राजनीति के बीच उनके प्रभाव को और मजबूत करने वाला माना जा रहा है।
