New Delhi: On the final day of the IVCA Green Returns Summit 2025, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari delivered the closing address and spoke about India’s future direction in building sustainable, climate-friendly infrastructure. The event, organised by the Indian Venture and Alternate Capital Association (IVCA), brought together policymakers, investors, innovators, and climate leaders.

Gadkari Urges Strong Policy–Industry Partnership for Green Growth

Shri Gadkari said that the next decade of India’s development will depend on how well the country connects green mobility, renewable energy, and low-carbon technologies with infrastructure and industry needs. He said:

“Deeptech, climate-tech, and ESG-aligned enterprises are becoming strategic pillars of India’s development story. These sectors need long-term capital and blended financing models to support higher technology risk. Strengthening these financing pathways will help India build global capabilities for the future economy.”

He highlighted that climate investment must increase quickly, and India will need large-scale funding, supportive policies, and rapid technology growth to achieve long-term sustainability goals. Shri Gadkari added:

“A coordinated approach between government, investors, and institutions is essential to expand the domestic pool of early-stage capital. As policies mature and investor participation increases, India can build a strong innovation-finance ecosystem that supports climate-focused entrepreneurs.”

Shri Gadkari also spoke about the role of biofuels, electric vehicles, green hydrogen, and circular economy solutions in speeding up India’s green transition. He said that strengthening the financing system for these areas is critical.

His session was one of the major highlights of Day 2, giving clear direction on policy priorities and investment opportunities. The Summit also explored India’s $10 trillion climate investment opportunity, institutional financing for green growth, and deeptech solutions for decarbonisation.
