New Delhi: Bihar showcased its rapid transformation in the power sector at the 7th CII International Energy Conference & Exhibition (IECE 2026) in New Delhi, inviting domestic and global investors to participate in its next phase of energy-led growth.

The Bihar delegation was led by Energy Minister Shri Shailesh Kumar alias Bulo Mandal, along with Energy Secretary and BSPHCL CMD Shri Ajay Yadav, IAS, NBPDCL MD Shri Rahul Kumar, IAS, and BSPTCL MD Dr. Naval Kishore Chaudhary, IAS. Industry leaders including REC CMD Jitendra Srivastava, Avaada Group Chairman Vineet Mittal, NTPC Director-Projects Ravindra Kumar and CII Bihar State Council Chairman Gaurav Shah also participated.

Presenting the state’s roadmap, Bihar highlighted a ₹1.40 lakh crore investment pipeline over the next five years covering renewable and thermal power, transmission, distribution, battery storage, pumped storage, green energy corridors, smart grids and digital infrastructure.

Bihar said its DISCOMs have recorded profits of over ₹2,300 crore, while AT&C losses have fallen to 11.54%. The state has also installed more than 92 lakh smart prepaid meters and is promoting rooftop solar, PM Surya Ghar, PM-KUSUM and solar parks.

Energy Minister Shailesh Kumar said, “Today, every household in the State has access to electricity… We are now moving beyond universal electrification towards building a future-ready, sustainable and energy-secure Bihar.”

Energy Secretary Ajay Yadav invited investors, saying, “I invite all of you to invest in Bihar.” He highlighted the Single Window Clearance System and dedicated nodal officers for investors.

The minister also held meetings with Hexa, Avaada Group, Oriana Power and Jakson Group to explore renewable energy, grid modernisation and strategic partnerships.
