Hyderabad: Indian Railways has launched RailParcel, a pilot initiative to enhance parcel movement through rail across seven cities: Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Rajahmundry, Visakhapatnam, Bengaluru, and Chennai, led by the South Central Railway (SCR) zone. As part of this rollout, ETO Motors, a subsidiary of AION-Tech Solutions Limited, has been onboarded as the logistics partner to manage first- and last-mile parcel deliveries, ensuring smooth connectivity between railway terminals and end customers.
The pilot aims to improve operational efficiency, shipment visibility, and timely execution of parcel movement, creating a more organized and sustainable logistics framework. RailParcel represents a step toward modernizing India’s parcel handling processes by integrating rail transport with structured ground logistics.
Anthony Daniel, Chief Business Officer, ETO Motors, said, “This pilot demonstrates how first- and last-mile logistics can complement large-scale rail networks. By integrating our electric mobility-led capabilities with rail transport, we are enabling seamless, efficient, and low-carbon parcel movement, while strengthening operational readiness for sustainable logistics.”
Under the pilot, ETO Motors is managing on-ground parcel operations in three cities, aligning with rail schedules to ensure timely deliveries. The collaboration creates a true end-to-end green mobility ecosystem, positioning ETO Motors as a key partner in India’s emerging multimodal logistics networks.
