संभल में हुई हिंसा के पीड़ित परिवारों से मिलने जा रहे कांग्रेस नेता और रायबरेली सांसद राहुल गांधी का काफिला गाजीपुर बॉर्डर पर रोक दिया गया। प्रशासन ने सुरक्षा कारणों का हवाला देते हुए उनका दौरा टाल दिया। हिंसा में मारे गए चार लोगों के परिजनों से मिलने के लिए राहुल गांधी रवाना हुए थे, लेकिन दिल्ली-मेरठ एक्सप्रेसवे और अन्य स्थानों पर भारी पुलिस बल तैनात कर जगह-जगह चेकिंग की गई। कांग्रेस नेताओं ने इस रोक पर नाराजगी जताते हुए कहा कि सरकार विपक्ष को सच जानने से रोक रही है। कांग्रेस नेता अजय कुमार लल्लू ने सवाल उठाया कि अगर नेता प्रतिपक्ष घटनास्थल पर नहीं जाएंगे, तो संसद में जनता की आवाज कैसे उठाएंगे।
करीब दस दिन पहले संभल के जामा मस्जिद में सर्वे के दौरान हुए बवाल में पथराव और फायरिंग के कारण चार लोगों की मौत हो गई थी। इसके बाद प्रशासन ने जिले की सीमाएं सील कर दीं और इंटरनेट सेवा बंद कर दी। बाहरी व्यक्तियों के प्रवेश पर 10 दिसंबर तक प्रतिबंध लगा दिया गया है। बावजूद इसके, मंगलवार को कांग्रेस नेताओं का एक प्रतिनिधिमंडल संभल पहुंचकर पीड़ित परिवारों से मिल चुका है, जिसकी भनक पुलिस और खुफिया विभाग को नहीं लगी।
राहुल गांधी के दौरे को रोकने का यह कदम सियासी विवाद को बढ़ा सकता है। कांग्रेस ने इसे तानाशाही करार दिया और कहा कि राहुल गांधी जरूर पीड़ितों से मिलेंगे और उनकी आवाज उठाएंगे। इस बीच, प्रशासन शांति व्यवस्था बनाए रखने की कोशिश में जुटा है, लेकिन विपक्ष इसे लोकतंत्र का हनन बता रहा है।
