New Delhi: India is set to host the Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2025 on October 30–31 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, with participation from over 170 countries. Supported by the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, the two-day event aims to generate trade opportunities worth ₹2 lakh crore, with export deals of around ₹25,000 crore expected to be finalized.

Dev Garg, Vice President, Indian Rice Exporters Federation, said that all States and Union Territories will showcase their distinct rice varieties and heritage grains. “India, one of the world’s largest rice exporters, plays a key role in ensuring global food security. BIRC 2025 will bring together exporters, global buyers, and innovators to strengthen trade partnerships and promote sustainability,” he noted.

A major attraction at the conference will be the AgriTech Pavilion, featuring the world’s first AI-based rice sorting system. Powered by Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, this technology enhances sorting precision and efficiency while reducing operational costs, energy use, and manpower.
The conference will also highlight a Women Entrepreneurs, Startups, and MSME Pavilion, focusing on innovation in seed technology, packaging, digital trade, and blockchain-based traceability.

“India’s rice industry is evolving into a global leader in technology, quality, and sustainability,” Garg added. “Through BIRC 2025, we aim to make Indian rice not only the most traded but also the most trusted worldwide.”
