New Delhi: Capt. S. Divakar assumed charge as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO) of Dredging Corporation of India (DCIL) on 25 March 2026. His appointment was approved by the Board of Directors, along with the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, as Additional Director – Executive & Non-Independent and Key Managerial Personnel (KMP). He will serve as Additional Director until the next General Meeting, where shareholders’ approval will be sought for his regular appointment as Non-Independent & Executive Director.

Capt. Divakar is a distinguished maritime professional with over 35 years of experience in the dredging industry, combining operational expertise with strategic leadership. He began his career with DCIL in 1987 as a Cadet under the All India Dredging Cadre (AIDC – V Batch). Over 22 years at sea, he progressed from Cadet to Captain, serving as Master of Dredger for nearly seven years and successfully executing numerous dredging projects in India and abroad.
In the last 13 years, he has contributed in senior shore-based management roles, overseeing operational planning, project execution, and techno-commercial decision-making. Capt. Divakar has in-depth knowledge of dredging operations across Indian ports, government policies, and regulatory frameworks, enabling cost-effective and sustainable solutions.
Widely recognized for his integrity, principled leadership, and motivational style, he has consistently driven organizational growth. His appointment marks a strategic milestone for DCIL as it strengthens its position as India’s premier dredging organization and pursues ambitious expansion plans in the maritime infrastructure sector.
