UPI: दुनिया की अग्रणी फिनटेक कंपनी पेपाल के सीईओ एलेक्स क्रिस ने कहा है कि भारत का यूनिफाइड पेमेंट्स इंटरफेस (यूपीआई) न सिर्फ देश के लिए, बल्कि वैश्विक डिजिटल भुगतान प्रणाली के लिए भी बेहद अहम है।
ग्लोबल फिनटेक फेस्ट 2025 में बोलते हुए क्रिस ने बताया कि पेपाल अब एक ऐसा प्लेटफॉर्म बना रहा है जो दुनिया के बेहतरीन डिजिटल वॉलेट्स को आपस में जोड़ सकेगा। इस पहल से डिजिटल वॉलेट्स और पेमेंट सिस्टम्स के बीच बेहतर इंटरऑपरेबिलिटी संभव होगी।
पेपाल ने हाल ही में भारतीय राष्ट्रीय भुगतान निगम (NPCI) के साथ साझेदारी की है, जिसके तहत ‘पेपाल वर्ल्ड’ प्लेटफॉर्म में यूपीआई को जोड़ा जाएगा। यह कदम पेपाल की उन वैश्विक पहलों का हिस्सा है जो विभिन्न देशों की प्रमुख भुगतान प्रणालियों को एक साथ जोड़ने का लक्ष्य रखती हैं। शुरुआत पेपाल और वेनमो के एकीकरण से की जाएगी।
क्रिस ने कहा कि भारत में पेपाल का फोकस घरेलू भुगतानों पर नहीं, बल्कि सीमा-पार भुगतान और वैश्विक कनेक्टिविटी को मजबूत करने पर रहेगा। उन्होंने यूपीआई को “वर्ल्ड-क्लास इनोवेशन” बताते हुए कहा कि भारत आज फिनटेक नवाचार, टैलेंट और वाणिज्यिक अवसरों का केंद्र बन चुका है।
उनके अनुसार, यूपीआई ऐसा पहला डिजिटल प्लेटफॉर्म है जिसने साबित किया है कि भारत का बाजार वैश्विक स्तर पर कितना प्रभावशाली है।
इसी कार्यक्रम में, वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने गिफ्ट सिटी में फॉरेन करेंसी सेटलमेंट सिस्टम (FCSS) लॉन्च किया। उन्होंने कहा कि यह सिस्टम रियल-टाइम अंतरराष्ट्रीय लेनदेन को आसान बनाएगा और तरलता (Liquidity) को बढ़ाने में मदद करेगा।
