Lucknow: The Government of Uttar Pradesh proudly announces a significant milestone in its efforts to attract global investments and foster industrial growth. In a landmark event at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, the Hon’ble Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Manoj Kumar Singh, along with other esteemed delegates from the Government of Uttar Pradesh, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mr. Henrique Braun, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of Coca-Cola.

This strategic partnership aims to expand Coca-Cola’s network of bottling plants and distribution channels in Uttar Pradesh through Moon Beverages & SMLG Beverages. The agreement represents a substantial investment of over Rs. 2500 crores, underscoring the state’s commitment to enhancing its industrial capabilities and creating new economic opportunities for its citizens.

The Hon’ble Chief Secretary, Mr. Manoj Kumar Singh, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “This MoU with Coca-Cola is a testament to Uttar Pradesh’s potential as a premier destination for global investors. We are dedicated to creating an environment that fosters innovation, growth, and prosperity for all.”

Mr. Henrique Braun, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of Coca-Cola, echoed this sentiment, “We are excited to expand our operations in Uttar Pradesh and contribute to the state’s economic development. This investment will enable us to better serve our customers and create sustainable value for the communities we operate in.”

The signing ceremony was attended by key officials from both parties, including ACEO Invest UP, Mr. Prathmesh Kumar, Secretary to the Chief Minister, Mr. Amit Singh, and Director of the Energy Resources Department, Mr. Anupam Shukla.
With this significant investment, Uttar Pradesh continues to reinforce its position as a leading hub for industry, innovation, and global partnerships. The state remains committed to creating a thriving business environment that attracts top-tier companies and drives sustainable economic growth.
Moon Beverages Limited will invest approximately INR 700 crores in the state of Uttar Pradesh over the next two years (2025-26), while SLMG Beverages will invest approximately INR 2000 crores in the state over the same period. This significant investment will focus on developing bottling infrastructure, which is expected to drive economic growth and create employment opportunities in the region.
The Coca-Cola Company, based in Atlanta, is a major player in the beverage industry, known for brands like Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta, and Diet Coke. It operates in over 200 countries, with key markets in Mexico, China, Brazil, and India, contributing significantly to its global sales. The company has an extensive infrastructure, including over 445 production facilities and 1,635 retail stores worldwide. In India, Coca-Cola has a presence in key states such as Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Punjab, Bihar, Haryana, Delhi, Gujarat, Telangana, Karnataka, Chandigarh, and Tamil Nadu, enabling it to cater to a wide market.
Potential areas for collaboration and investment in Uttar Pradesh include expanding manufacturing facilities, investing in water conservation initiatives, enhancing the distribution network, and implementing sustainability programs. The Government of Uttar Pradesh offers incentives under various policies, including capital subsidy, SGST refund, and other benefits such as stamp duty and electricity duty exemptions. Additionally, there is available land for development and access to local workforce training and improved logistics and transportation networks.
