Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh has once again demonstrated its leadership in the logistics sector by being named an Achiever State in the Logistics Ease Across Different States (LEADS) 2024 rankings for the third consecutive year (2022, 2023, and 2024). The award was presented by Hon’ble Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, at the LEADS 2024 Report Release and LEAPS Award Ceremony in New Delhi, and was received by Shri Abhishek Prakash, Secretary, Industrial Development, and CEO of Invest UP.
The LEADS initiative, launched by the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry in 2018, evaluates states based on infrastructure, services, and regulatory environment, and Uttar Pradesh’s consistent recognition underscores its sustained efforts to enhance logistics efficiency. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state has prioritized logistics development as a key driver for achieving its $1 trillion economy goal, supported by the State Warehousing & Logistics Policy 2022.
This policy focuses on building robust transportation infrastructure, promoting warehousing and cold chain facilities, and encouraging private investments through incentives like subsidies, land-use concessions, and tax exemptions. Strategic initiatives such as the City Logistics Masterplan and the Nivesh Mitra single-window clearance system aim to transform Uttar Pradesh from a “landlocked to a land-linked” state by improving connectivity via expressways, freight corridors, and airports. By creating a seamless logistics ecosystem, the state is strengthening ease of doing business, fostering economic growth, and contributing significantly to India’s global competitiveness.
