Tech News: Umiya Buildcon Limited (BSE: 532376 | NSE: UMIYA-MRO and formerly MRO-TEK Realty Limited), a dual-sector publicly listed company, today announced the launch of its MRO-TEK CORNUS Family 1G Switches. Developed in India with over 65% local content, the switches align with the government’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives, qualifying under the highest Class 1 Local Content category of the DPIIT’s Preference to Make in India (PMI) policy.

The launch, coinciding with the anniversary of the Make in India initiative, underlines Umiya Buildcon’s commitment to indigenous innovation and strengthening India’s telecom and networking infrastructure.

Advanced, Indigenous Networking Solutions

The CORNUS Family comprises fully managed Layer-2 Gigabit switches in multiple variants, offering 4–26 electrical GE ports and 2–6 fiber GE ports. Select models feature PoE (15/30W per port) to support IP cameras, access points, and IoT devices. Designed for deployment across telecom operators, ISPs, PSUs, industrial enterprises, and railways, applications range from railway signaling (RDSO-compliant) to traffic surveillance, Wi-Fi networks, industrial automation, and long-haul media conversion.

At the core of the switches is the MRO-OS, a fully indigenous operating system built by Umiya Buildcon’s R&D team. It supports dual-stack IPv4/IPv6, VLAN, STP/RSTP/MSTP, ERPS, IGMP, LACP, QoS, ACL, and management via Web, Telnet, SNMP V1/V2/V3, Syslog, and TFTP.

Made in India, Built for Security

Hardware is powered by Microchip and Realtek SoCs, with electronics manufacturing carried out at Umiya Buildcon’s Bengaluru SMT facility. The switches are certified under TEC’s MTCTE framework, listed as Trusted Products under the NSCS’s Trusted Telecom Portal, and protected by Indian copyright registrations.

Roadmap for Growth

Umiya Buildcon is developing 10G and 40G switch families, with the 10G version already in testing. All future products will run on the scalable MRO-OS platform, ensuring seamless innovation.
