The first-of-its-kind initiative will roll out across 10 locations, starting with Tirunelveli. Each hub will feature dedicated drone training labs offering a 100-hour blended learning programme, including classroom sessions, live demonstrations, and practical training. Learners will also be equipped with soft skills, ensuring market-ready competencies in UAV technology.
Applications of drones span agriculture, construction, infrastructure monitoring, energy, security, search and rescue, logistics, real estate, insurance, and environmental conservation. By aligning training with real-world industry needs, the programme aims to create high-value jobs and strengthen local talent pipelines.
The TNFTH initiative is Asia’s first integrated platform bringing together seven advanced technologies: Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Drone Technology, EVs, IoT, 5G, and ERP. The hubs aim to foster skilling, innovation, and entrepreneurship while expanding IT and ITeS opportunities into Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.
“Drone technologies are shifting from niche to necessity. With this initiative, we’re creating a scalable model for real-world skills,” said Aniruddha Mehta, CMD, Umiya Buildcon. COO Group Captain CS Krishnadas (Retd) added, “These labs are gateways to building a high-quality tech-enabled workforce, aligned with India’s growth vision.”
