New Delhi: The capital is all set to witness a high-voltage celebration of dreams and dance as Mumbai Star, a vibrant dance musical by The Dragon Rose Project, arrives for a limited run on 14th and 15th June 2025 at Kamani Auditorium. Presented by Aadyam Theatre, an initiative of the Aditya Birla Group, the production brings Mumbai’s electric spirit to the stage in what promises to be one of the year’s most memorable theatrical events.

Following its blockbuster debut in Mumbai, Mumbai Star now brings its bold choreography, emotional storytelling, and rich musical tapestry to Delhi audiences. Directed by Nadir Khan and choreographed by Avantika Bahl, the show also features creative inputs from acclaimed choreographers Vidushi Uma Dogra, Krutika Mehta, and Vivaran Dhasmana.

At the heart of the musical is Dev, a passionate dancer from a coastal village who journeys to Mumbai with his mother’s dream and his own fire to succeed. As he auditions for a life-changing dance competition, the story unravels into a powerful saga of struggle, transformation, and the deep bond between a mentor and a student.

The production dazzles with a 19-track original score by Dhruv Ghanekar and lyrics by Ishitta Arun, spanning orchestral pieces, folk beats, hip hop, and soaring ballads. Studio versions feature celebrated voices like Sunidhi Chauhan, Nakash Aziz, Kunal Ganjawala, and others, while the stage show is carried by the electrifying energy of a dynamic cast of dancers and performers.

With standout performances from Avenav Mukherjee, Abhishek Choksi, Arushi Nigam, and Jayesh Sarange, supported by actors Rajit Kapur and Srishti Shrivastava as narrators, the production delivers an emotionally charged theatrical spectacle.

Producer and writer Devika Shahani shares, “Mumbai Star is a tribute to the sacred bond between guru and shishya — a relationship that shaped this story. It’s a bold departure in form, and a very personal homage to my own mentor.”

Director and Aadyam’s Co-Programming Consultant Nadir Khan adds, “With Mumbai Star, Aadyam expands its canvas to embrace Dance as a vital storytelling form. We hope this sparks new possibilities for dancers within theatre.”

Originally commissioned by Min-On Concert Association, Tokyo, and staged by The Dragon Rose Project, Mumbai Star is not just a show — it’s a pulsating celebration of Mumbai’s chaos, charm, and dreams.

Now in its seventh season, Aadyam Theatre continues its mission to spotlight bold, original Indian storytelling. With Mumbai Star, it invites Delhi to experience a production where rhythm meets heart, and movement becomes magic.
