Mumbai: IndiGo Airlines and IDFC FIRST Bank have launched the IndiGo IDFC FIRST Credit Card, which comes with the unique feature of integrating both Mastercard and RuPay networks in a single application. This dual-network benefit ensures wider acceptance for payments across India and globally, while also allowing users to make secure UPI-enabled transactions for everyday spending. The card offers multiple benefits, including rewards on IndiGo flight bookings, milestone spending, and daily purchases, along with travel perks like trip cancellation cover, travel insurance, and a low forex markup of 1.49% on international usage. It also enhances the IndiGo BluChip loyalty program by enabling customers to earn points not only on travel but also on routine transactions.
To make it more accessible, customers can either pay a joining fee of ₹4,999, which comes with welcome vouchers, or opt for a ₹1 lakh fixed deposit for assured approval with zero joining fee.
According to Shirish Bhandari, Head of Credit Cards at IDFC FIRST Bank, the card is designed to democratize premium travel benefits and make them accessible to a wider customer base, regardless of credit history.
IndiGo’s Chief Information & Digital Officer, Neetan Chopra, highlighted that the partnership strengthens the IndiGo BluChip program, converting everyday spending into travel rewards.
Mastercard’s Senior VP, Anubhav Gupta, emphasized that the card is built to enhance the entire travel experience with comfort, value, and financial convenience.
