New Delhi: भारत से अमेरिका में आयात पर 50 प्रतिशत शुल्क आज से प्रभावी हो गया है। यह अमेरिकी सीमा शुल्क एवं सीमा सुरक्षा (CBP) द्वारा जारी नोटिस के बाद लागू हुआ है, जिसमें यह स्पष्ट किया गया है कि एडिशनल ड्यूटी राष्ट्रपति ट्रंप के 6 अगस्त, 2025 के कार्यकारी आदेश 14329 के तहत लगाई गई है। आदेश का उद्देश्य “रूसी संघ की सरकार द्वारा संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका के लिए खतरों” का मुकाबला करना बताया गया है। इस कदम के तहत भारत से आयातित अधिकांश वस्तुओं पर उच्च शुल्क लागू होगा, हालांकि कुछ उत्पादों को इससे छूट दी गई है।
सीबीपी ने बताया कि अमेरिकी होमलैंड सुरक्षा सचिव ने कार्यकारी आदेश के अनुरूप अमेरिकी टैरिफ अनुसूची (HTSUS) को संशोधित किया है। शुल्क उन सभी भारतीय उत्पादों पर लागू होंगे जो अमेरिका में उपभोग के लिए लाए जाते हैं या गोदामों से निकाले जाते हैं। ट्रंप ने इससे पहले 30 जुलाई को 25 प्रतिशत अतिरिक्त टैरिफ लगाने की घोषणा की थी और सोशल मीडिया पोस्ट में भारत के उच्च टैरिफ और गैर-मौद्रिक व्यापार बाधाओं का उल्लेख किया था।
प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने अमेरिकी टैरिफ के बावजूद आत्मनिर्भर भारत की दिशा में कदम बढ़ाने का संकल्प व्यक्त किया। उन्होंने कहा कि भारत वाशिंगटन के आर्थिक दबाव के बावजूद रास्ता निकालेगा।
कुछ प्रमुख श्रेणियों जैसे लोहा, स्टील, एल्युमीनियम, वाहन, पुर्जे और तांबे के उत्पाद उच्च शुल्क से बाहर हैं। ग्लोबल ट्रेड रिसर्च इनिशिएटिव (GTRI) के अनुसार, भारत से अमेरिका निर्यात का लगभग 30.2 प्रतिशत, मूल्यांकन में 27.6 बिलियन डॉलर, शुल्क-मुक्त रहेगा। इसमें फार्मास्यूटिकल्स, इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स, रिफाइंड लाइट ऑयल, गैसोलीन और विमानन ईंधन शामिल हैं। विशेषज्ञों के अनुसार, भारत का मजबूत विनिर्माण आधार, विशेषकर फार्मा और चिकित्सा उपकरण क्षेत्रों में, इस टैरिफ के प्रभाव को कम कर नई व्यापार संभावनाओं को खोल सकता है।
