Chennai: An IIT Madras-incubated startup has introduced an innovative transportation system that could cut travel time between Kolkata and Chennai to just three hours at an affordable fare of ₹600, as per a news report.
Waterbly Technologies, the company spearheading the project, aims to provide a faster and budget-friendly alternative to conventional travel. If implemented, this system could revolutionize passenger transit by making it both cost-effective and time-efficient.
Unlike traditional airplanes, the craft will fly just a few meters above the water, eliminating the need to endure low air pressure. This unique design significantly reduces construction costs and utilizes the ocean’s vast expanse as a natural runway, minimizing the need for powerful engines typically required for takeoff.
