New Delhi: Brookfield Properties, a global leader in high-quality real estate development and operations, has unveiled its Earth Day 2025 campaign, “Powered by Purpose.” This six-week initiative is designed to promote sustainable behaviors and raise awareness about the impact of climate change.

As part of its digital-first strategy, the company has released what it calls “the least impactful video ever”—a deliberately low-resolution film aimed at drawing attention to the environmental cost of high-definition streaming and excessive online content consumption. The campaign, aligned with this year’s Earth Day theme, “Our Planet. Our Power,” encourages people to take a digital sustainability pledge and reconsider the unseen environmental impact of their online activities.

“The video is symbolic, representing a broader commitment to sustainability. However, the true impact lies in the everyday actions we take—whether on our campuses, within our communities, or through our long-term focus on renewable energy and climate-positive development. ‘Powered by Purpose’ reflects our approach to building, operating, and contributing to a more sustainable future,” said Reema Kundnani, Executive Vice President and Head of Marketing and Key Account Management at Brookfield Properties, India.

In addition to its digital efforts, Brookfield Properties will plant over 5,000 native trees across Bengaluru and Delhi-NCR. This initiative builds on the success of its ‘Forest of Hope’ program, which has already seen the planting of over 3,000 trees—estimated to sequester 1,500 tonnes of CO₂ and generate more than 2,700 tonnes of oxygen annually.

The campaign underscores Brookfield Properties’ broader environmental commitments:

  • 40% of Delhi-NCR’s energy needs have already been transitioned to renewable power through Brookfield’s Bikaner Solar Power Project.
  • Over 1.5 million sq. ft. of green cover has been created across campuses in India.
  • 20,000+ metric tons of CO₂ are eliminated annually—equivalent to taking 4,300 cars off the road.

The company remains committed to powering 100% of its India portfolio with clean energy by 2027 and achieving net-zero emissions across its 55 million sq. ft. portfolio by 2040 or sooner.
