इस मामले ने तब और तूल पकड़ लिया जब अक्षय कुमार की प्रोडक्शन कंपनी ने परेश रावल के फिल्म छोड़ने पर आर्थिक नुकसान का दावा करते हुए कानूनी कदम उठाया। इसके जवाब में परेश रावल की टीम ने स्पष्ट किया कि जब स्क्रिप्ट और अनुबंध ही नहीं था, तो नुकसान की बात कैसे उठ सकती है? साथ ही, परेश रावल ने 11 लाख रुपये का साइनिंग अमाउंट भी लौटा दिया है ताकि किसी तरह का कानूनी विवाद न हो।
