यूपीआई, भारत के डिजिटल भुगतान इकोसिस्टम की मजबूत नींव साबित हो रहा है, जो खुदरा भुगतानों में 80% से अधिक का योगदान देता है। वित्त वर्ष 2023-24 में डिजिटल भुगतान में उल्लेखनीय वृद्धि देखी गई, जिसमें कुल ट्रांजैक्शन की मात्रा 131 बिलियन से अधिक और कुल मूल्य 200 लाख करोड़ रुपये को पार कर गया।
उपयोग में सरलता बढ़ा रही यूपीआई की लोकप्रियता
वित्त मंत्रालय के अनुसार, यूपीआई की सफलता के पीछे भाग लेने वाले बैंकों, फिनटेक प्लेटफार्मों के विस्तृत नेटवर्क और इसकी उपयोग में सरलता प्रमुख कारण हैं। वर्तमान में 80 से अधिक यूपीआई ऐप (बैंक ऐप और थर्ड-पार्टी एप्लिकेशन प्रोवाइडर) और 641 बैंक यूपीआई इकोसिस्टम का हिस्सा हैं।
जनवरी 2025 तक, पीटूएम (P2M) ट्रांजैक्शन का कुल यूपीआई वॉल्यूम में 62.35% योगदान रहा, जबकि पीटूपी (P2P) ट्रांजैक्शन का योगदान 37.65% रहा। खास बात यह है कि पीटूएम ट्रांजैक्शन में 86% ट्रांजैक्शन 500 रुपये तक के छोटे भुगतानों के लिए थे, जो दर्शाता है कि नागरिकों के बीच छोटे मूल्य के भुगतान के लिए यूपीआई पर गहरा भरोसा है।
वैश्विक स्तर पर यूपीआई का विस्तार

यूपीआई का वैश्विक प्रसार भी तेजी से हो रहा है, जिससे विदेश यात्रा करने वाले भारतीयों के लिए सीमा पार भुगतान करना आसान हो रहा है। वर्तमान में यूपीआई 7 से अधिक देशों में उपलब्ध है, जिनमें यूएई, सिंगापुर, भूटान, नेपाल, श्रीलंका, फ्रांस और मॉरीशस शामिल हैं, जिससे भारतीय उपयोगकर्ता अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर भी सहजता से भुगतान कर सकते हैं।
