नीतीश कैबिनेट ने शिक्षकों की कार्यप्रणाली और अनुशासन को लेकर बड़ा कदम उठाते हुए बिहार विद्यालय विशिष्ट शिक्षक नियमावली में संशोधन को मंजूरी दी है। अब शिक्षकों की सक्षमता परीक्षा तीन की जगह पांच बार आयोजित की जाएगी, और परीक्षा पास करने के बाद ही शिक्षक अपनी पोस्टिंग पर योगदान दे सकेंगे। प्रमाण-पत्रों की जांच और सेवा संपुष्टि के बाद ही वेतन का भुगतान होगा।
नई नियमावली के तहत स्थानीय राजनीति में शामिल रहने वाले शिक्षकों पर सख्त कार्रवाई का प्रावधान किया गया है। ऐसे शिक्षकों को पहले तीन दिन का अल्टीमेटम दिया जाएगा, और जवाब संतोषजनक न होने पर डीएम के स्तर से उनका स्थानांतरण दूसरे ब्लॉक में किया जा सकेगा। जरूरत पड़ने पर उन्हें जिले से बाहर भी ट्रांसफर किया जा सकता है। अगर शिक्षक को कार्रवाई अनुचित लगती है, तो वह शिक्षा विभाग के निदेशक या विभागीय सचिव के पास अपील कर सकता है। यह फैसला शिक्षकों की जिम्मेदारियों को सुनिश्चित करने और शिक्षा की गुणवत्ता में सुधार के लिए उठाया गया है।
