New Delhi: भारत निर्वाचन आयोग (ECI) ने मतदाताओं को उनका मतदाता फोटो पहचान पत्र (EPIC) तेजी से पहुंचाने के लिए एक नई मानक प्रचालन प्रक्रिया (SOP) शुरू की है। इस नई व्यवस्था के तहत, अब वोटर लिस्ट में किसी भी तरह के अपडेट – जैसे नया नाम जोड़ना या पुराने विवरण में बदलाव – के बाद 15 दिनों के भीतर EPIC कार्ड मतदाता तक पहुंच सकेगा। आयोग का यह कदम मुख्य निर्वाचन आयुक्त ज्ञानेश कुमार और निर्वाचन आयुक्तों डॉ. सुखबीर सिंह संधू व डॉ. विवेक जोशी के नेतृत्व में मतदाताओं को बेहतर सेवाएं देने के प्रयासों का हिस्सा है।
इस नई प्रणाली में EPIC कार्ड बनाने से लेकर डाक विभाग के जरिए मतदाता तक उसकी डिलीवरी तक के हर चरण की रियल-टाइम ट्रैकिंग की सुविधा होगी। मतदाता को हर स्टेप पर SMS के जरिए जानकारी दी जाएगी, जिससे उन्हें अपने पहचान पत्र की स्थिति का पता चलता रहेगा। इसके लिए ECI ने अपने ECIनेट प्लेटफॉर्म पर एक नया आईटी मॉड्यूल पेश किया है, जो पुरानी प्रणाली की जगह लेकर वर्कफ्लो को ज्यादा सुगम और तेज बना देगा।
साथ ही, डाक विभाग के एप्लीकेशन प्रोग्राम इंटरफ़ेस (API) को भी ECIनेट से जोड़ा जा रहा है, जिससे EPIC की निर्बाध और सुरक्षित डिलीवरी सुनिश्चित की जा सके। आयोग का मुख्य उद्देश्य सभी मतदाताओं को तेज़, पारदर्शी और सुरक्षित चुनावी सेवाएं देना है। गौरतलब है कि पिछले चार महीनों में आयोग ने मतदाताओं और अन्य हितधारकों के लिए कई नई पहलें की हैं, और यह नई प्रक्रिया उसी दिशा में एक और महत्वपूर्ण कदम है।
