ट्रांसपेरेंसी इंटरनेशनल द्वारा जारी करप्शन परसेप्शन इंडेक्स-2024 में भारत 180 देशों की सूची में 96वें स्थान पर पहुंच गया है। यह इंडेक्स सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र में भ्रष्टाचार की धारणा के आधार पर देशों की रैंकिंग करता है। वर्ष 2023 में भारत की रैंक 93 थी, जबकि 2022 में यह 85वें स्थान पर था। भारत का स्कोर लगातार गिरते हुए 2024 में 38 पर पहुंच गया, जो 2023 में 39 और 2022 में 40 था।
पड़ोसी देशों की बात करें तो पाकिस्तान 135वें, श्रीलंका 121वें और बांग्लादेश 149वें स्थान पर है, जबकि चीन 76वें पायदान पर बना हुआ है। इस सूची में डेनमार्क सबसे कम भ्रष्ट देश के रूप में शीर्ष स्थान पर है, उसके बाद फिनलैंड और सिंगापुर का स्थान आता है। रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, भ्रष्टाचार दुनिया भर में एक गंभीर समस्या बना हुआ है, हालांकि कुछ देशों में सुधार के संकेत भी मिले हैं।
